Snooki (Nicole) Polizzi was born on November 23, 1987, in Santiago, Chile. She was adopted by Italian-American parents at six months old and raised in Marlboro, New York. Snooki suffered from an eating disorder in high school, where she was also a cheerleader. She graduated from Marlboro High and attended community college to become a veterinary technician.
She rose to stardom as the infamous party animal on five seasons of Jersey Shore- a reality TV show based on the lives of young adults all living in one house and their escapades in the nightlife scene. In season one, she was paid $5,000 per episode. Due to her soaring ratings, she is currently one of the highest paid reality TV stars, getting paid $150,000 per episode (about $2.5 million per season).
She considers herself a professional guidette- a lower or working-class Italian American who behaves in a flashy, macho way. When she’s not filming seasons, she frequently makes guest appearances and has written three (unsuccessful) books. She was paid $32,000 to speak at Rutgers University about life as a celebrity, school, and her future. Reportedly, she left 1,000 students with a quote, “Study hard, party harder”.
In March of 2012, Snooki and boyfriend Jionni La Valle announced the pregnancy and later the engagement. On August 26, 2012, Snooki and her fiancé welcomed a little 6lbs 5oz baby boy, who they named Lorenzo Dominic LaValle. Just like most new mothers, she couldn't be happier. Since she will not be able to continue her wild lifestyle on the Jersey Shore, the producers at MTV have created a new show “Snooki & JWoww”, focusing on the lives of best friends and roommates, Snooki and Jennifer Farley.
